Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.

Elisabeth Elliot, one of the outstanding women of present-day Christianity, is the author of more than twenty books, including Passion and Purity, The Journals of Jim Elliot, and These Strange Ashes.

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.

I would love to scuba dive in beautiful clear water with fishies!

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

In my life, there haven't been a lot of constant people in it. I've moved a lot- my only true roots are to a state where I barely know anyone. (I still love Alaska more than air) but there haven't been a lot of people that have known me very well. There have been a handful of people though, who've truly made large impacts on my life. I'd be a fool to name all of them, as well as a fool to not say that these people immediately come to mind.

First one is obviously the man I married.

That being said, I have no idea as to what he's up to here.

The second would be this couple: Jim and Peggy Evans.  They were our mentors: spiritually,  financially- in almost every way possible.  They were our examples in marriage. They did our pre-marital counseling. They showed us how to live peacefully, how to handle family drama. Peggy especially showed me so many things that I needed to know before I  became a wife.  Cooking, cleaning, craft things, everything I was missing.

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.

This one was really hard. It's seems the music I listen to changes a ton. Yet... these guys, as well as Jon Foreman have always had a very, large place on my playlists. I've seen them in concert probably 12-15 times.

Yep, I love me some Switchfoot.

Day 11: A picture of something you love.

A picture of something you love...  this was easy.
The Kenai Peninsula. Glorious mountains, volcanoes, beaches, fishing, awesome and glorious space.

A picture of something you hate.

A picture of something you hate:

This was a hard thing. I thought about how to put into words the things that I hate about this world, and this was the closest I could get for a description.
wow, they have a lot to answer for.

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.

The phrasing of this particular day is a bit odd: so I'll clarify.  These ladies, these are very special: we do the most spontaneous and outrageous things together. Lately I haven't been able to see them much, which makes me very sad.

Lady 1: Joy Lewis. This photo, I believe was taken on the way to get my second tattoo done. :) With her we've done crazy 14 hour road trips, bad hair dye jobs (ketchup, anyone?) shetchy neighborhoods, wedding drama, etc.

Lady 2: Shannon Finn. My psych sister! We've gone through so many things together and come up with great ideas.  We've done tattoos and piercings together (especially after neurobiology class was over!!)  She's currently rocking the criminology graduate school Ivy League style in the crazy city of Phillllyyydelphia. (brotherly love there, not so much I hear...)

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

That would be this guy.

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh.

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh:

This is the best photo I have of the night that Victoria Harper and I spent the night in my car. It was 9 degrees. We got here around 2am, and slept in the back of this truck stop, hoping no one noticed. She hallucinated, and it was quite "memorable." (miserable) This is just over the Oklahoma Border.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.

This one was really difficult. It occured to me the other night, when we had a burning-smell outlet in our bedroom... how difficult this is. Faced with a possibility of how a house may actually burn down, I imagined what I'd grab out of our home to take and save from the fire.

when I was in college, the answer was always the same- my computer and thesis notes.

The answer now would probably be...

The real irony is that I can't find it to take an actual photo right now.... fire better wait until I find it.
